Forgan Corn Whiskey - Batch 4 Aged in American White Oak
Forgan Corn Whiskey is made from Lancashire corn grown so locally I can see the field it grows in from the distillery. It's fermented in Scottish highland mineral water with sugar and yeast.
This is a bourbon style whiskey made with 98% corn to a traditional American recipe given to me by a friend who is a horse ranch owner in West Virginia near the Appalachian Mountains.
The corn is fermented for 3 - 4 weeks before being cleared and then distilled to create 93%ABV "moonshine" or "white-dog", it's then watered down to the required strength with the highland mineral water before being barreled in charred virgin American white oak for aging.
All the colour and flavour - typically vanilla and caramel notes and oak - comes from the wood, we don't add any flavourings or colours, it's all natural from the wood, there's some sweetness from the corn which varies from batch to batch.
Strength is around 50%ABV, it does vary by batch. All bottles are numbered, typically a batch is around 28 bottles, if there's a special number you want I'll try to accommodate but it's first come first served. Bottle 1 of each batch is available to bidders should you be interested.
Forgan Corn Whiskey is best sipped neat at room temperature, however, if you do feel the need to add something, why not try a splash of Fever Tree ginger ale with ice because that's how Michelle drinks hers.
